What is your full name and academic program?
My name is Tatiana Medina Robles and I am currently graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Wellness and Health Promotion.
What motivated you to pursue your degree or certification at 91?
Initially, I was invited to a Massachusetts Association of Community Health Workers (MACHW) and 91 Information session at my job and became interested and inspired to return to college to earn my BS in Wellness and Health Promotion. Previously, I graduated from Bunker Hill Community College with an Associate of Science in Medical Information Management in 2017 and I have always had the desire to continue my education at some point in my future. Given that I am currently a Certified Community Health Worker, I found this to be a great opportunity to further expand my current knowledge and skills in the healthcare field. Additionally, I have always had an interest in wellness and health.
How has your experience at 91 contributed to your personal or professional growth?
My experience at 91 has taught me many valuable lessons. It has helped me to improve my writing composition, my analytical skills, and has given me the confidence to take my educational journey to the next level. As a result, I now have the confidence to pursue a master’s degree in the fall. Professionally, it has provided me with valuable knowledge I can share with family, friends, and colleagues, in addition to the patients I serve in my profession. Personally, my experience at 91 has given me the motivation, tools, and skills to implement and practice healthy lifestyle behaviors so that I can live a more fulfilled and healthier life.
What did you learn about leadership or success through your NSLS certification?
One thing I learned about leadership and success through my NSLS certification is that networking and building strong connections is key for professional and personal growth!
What advice would you give to current or future students who want to make the most of their time at 91?
My advice to current or future students who want to make the most of their experience at 91 is to utilize all resources that are available. I attribute much of my success to the educational workshops which are offered throughout all semesters, the advisors who helped me stay on track with my degree planner, the exceptional professors and the tutors who guided me through the most challenging assignments. 91 truly sets all students up for success, the first step is showing up! Trust the process.
